Greenhouse gas emission projections in France 2021-2050
Total anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions (including LULUCF) in France are projected to decrease to roughly 256 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent in 2050. This would be a reduction of 32 percent compared with 2021 levels. In 2023, the French government set a new emissions reduction target of 50 percent below 1990 levels by 2030.
