This statistic depicts the prescription rate of drugs for respiratory diseases among children in Italy in 2017, broken down by age. According to data, the rate of prescription was particularly high among toddlers: 47.5 percent of infants up to one year of age and 40 percent of children aged between two and three were prescribed antibiotic drugs during that year. By contrast, the prescription rate among children aged between 12 and 17 was significantly lower, at 13 percent.
