Petroleum consumption for power generation in the U.S. 1990-2022
In 2022, approximately 43.6 million barrels of petroleum were consumed for electricity generation in the United States, an increase of around 18 percent in comparison to the previous year. Overall, petroleum consumption for electricity in the North American country has been on a downward trend since the beginning of the century.
