GHG emissions pathways in Brazil 2020-2050, by scenario
In order to remain compatible with the Paris Agreement target of halting global warming to 1.5 degree Celsius above pre-industrial levels, Brazil would have to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by roughly 60 percent by 2050, relative to 2020 levels. In order to keep global warming below two degree Celsius (almost sufficient scenario), GHG emissions in Brazil should go below 640 MtCO₂e by that same year.
