Poliomyelitis vaccination coverage among children in Ghana 2018-2020, by type
In 2020, 93 percent of children in Ghana received the third dose of the orally given vaccine against poliomyelitis (OPV). On the other hand, inactivated poliovirus injection (IPV) received by children, in the fight against poliomyelitis, reached a coverage of 93 percent. Poliomyelitis is a disease that affects the central nervous system, often leading to short- or long-term paralysis.
