Over a million Black households had overdue mortgage payments in the period between the 23rd of June and the 5th of July 2023, while 5.4 million reported they were caught up on mortgage payments. In comparison, approximately 2.8 million White households were behind with their payments, whereas 53 million were on track. This makes White homeowners least affected by late mortgage payments.
