Share of people with a university degree in Italy 2022, by age-group
In 2022, 31.2 percent of Italians aged 25 to 29 years held a university degree. On the other hand, the population aged 65 years and more represented the group with the lowest share of people who achieved a university diploma.
In the academic year 2021/2022, Italy counted almost 1.9 million students. More than 60 percent of them were enrolled in a bachelor program.
