Primary energy consumption in Chile 2022, by source
In 2022, oil was by far the main source of primary energy consumption in Chile, amounting to 0.8 exajoules. This represented nearly 45 percent of the Andean country's total consumption. Fossil fuels (including coal, natural gas, and oil) represented around three quarters of the primary energy consumption in Chile that year, while renewable energies and hydroelectricity consumption amounted to 0.5 exajoules combined.
