Antimicrobial copper use to save costs and avoid infections in 5-year-period
This statistic presents the results of a UK study from 2013 that explored the use of antimicrobial copper to decrease healthcare-associated infections and subsequently save costs in a 20 bed intensive care unit (ICU). It was found that the use of antimicrobial copper reduced the number of infections by 300 and reduced the total cost of intervention from 9.1 million British pounds to 7.3 million pounds.
