This statistic shows the rates of economically inactive people aged 16-64 years in London (UK) from 2012 to 2016, broken down by gender. The share of economically inactive women decreased by 4.1 percent while male economic inactivity rates dropped by 1.9 percent. The male share of economically inactive persons, however, remained roughly half as high as the women's overall. In the most recent surveyed time period, 15 percent of the male population were considered economically inactive, compared with 28.4 percent of the female population.
