Burden of Hepatitis B worldwide 2013
This statistic displays the global burden of Hepatitis B as of 2008. There were 350 million people living with chronic hepatitis B infections worldwide. Hepatitis B virus infects the liver and disrupts normal liver functions. About 25 percent of adults who were infected with hepatitis B as a child and live with the disease, will die of liver cancer or liver cirrhosis. The disease caused by this virus can be both acute or chronic.
