Walt Disney World Animal Kingdom theme park attendance 2009-2022
Then and now – growth of Disney’s parks division
The park is owned by entertainment behemoth, The Walt Disney Company, under its ‘Parks, Experiences and Products’ segment. The corporation’s parks and resorts accounted for 16.55 billion U.S. dollars of its total revenue in 2021. Disneyland was famously founded as a standalone park by Walt Disney in Anaheim, California in 1955, but it has since seen huge growth and now operates 14 different theme parks around the world.
Four is the magic number
There are four major business segments within The Walt Disney Company and the firm’s largest segment is its media network. However, Disney’s Parks, Experiences and Products segment was founded in 1971 and has since become the company’s second-largest revenue source. The company’s other two segments are its film studio, ‘Walt Disney Studios’, which the company is possibly the most recognized for, and ‘Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International’.
