U.S. students riding with driver who had been drinking by gender and ethnicity 2017
This statistic shows the share of American students in grades 9 to 12 who stated they rode in a car or a vehicle with a driver who had been drinking alcohol in 2017. The results were sorted by gender and ethnicity. The survey covers only instances which had taken place on one or more occasions during the 30 days before the survey was conducted. During the survey, 15.7 percent of female student respondents with a white, non-Hispanic background stated they had been passengers in a car with an intoxicated driver during that period of time at least once.
