In a survey conducted in 2023 about the Australian public's view on climate change, around 73 percent of respondents claimed that they support the idea of imposing a polluter-pays tax for businesses based on how much they pollute. In contrast, around 17 percent of Australians surveyed said that they oppose this idea.
