During the 2023 men's Rugby World Cup in France, viewership reached an all-time high, with approximately 1.33 billion hours of linear and non-linear coverage viewed worldwide. That year, South Africa won a record fourth Rugby World Cup title, beating New Zealand in the final. Since the 2015 iteration of the tournament in England, viewership of the Rugby World Cup has grown, with the increase in viewing hours between the 2019 and 2023 tournaments representing a growth of around 20 percent.
