Premature deaths related to air pollution in Finland 2021, by pollutant
Fine particulate matter is amongst the most fatal air pollutants worldwide. In 2021, exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5) above the WHO AQ health limit alone was attributable to some 160 premature deaths in Finland. Meanwhile, exposure to ozone (O₃) led to an additional 110 premature deaths in the Nordic country that year.
