Premature deaths related to air pollution in Denmark 2021, by pollutant
Fine particulate matter is amongst the most fatal air pollutants worldwide. In 2021, exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5) was responsible for more than 1,000 premature deaths in Denmark. Copenhagen – Denmark's capital – had one of the lowest average PM2.5 concentrations amongst European capital cities in 2022, at 8.7 µg/m³.
