Monthly spending on electricity consumption by households Nigeria 2023, by age group
As of 2023, all age groups followed more or less the same trend in terms of the amount paid for electricity consumption. The only outlier was for individuals over 61 years who had a higher share, paying between 16,000 and 20,000 Nigerian naira (20.92 U.S. dollars and 26.14 U.S. dollars) compared to 11,000 to 15,000 Nigerian naira (14.38 U.S. dollars and 19.61 U.S. dollars). Furthermore, the majority of Nigerians paid between 1,000 and 5,000 Nigerian naira (1.31 U.S. dollars and 6.54 U.S. dollars) monthly, while the share of respondents generally dropped as the pay bands increased.
