U.S. Wordle gaming reach 2022, by generation
A January 2022 survey found that among adults in the United States, Millennials were the ones most likely to play casual word game Wordle. More than one in four respondents from that particular age group stated that they played the online game, where players try to guess a five letter word in six tries. The game can only be played once per day. Wordle was launched to the public in October 2021 and the title was purchased by The New York Times for a seven-figure sum in January 2022.
