Distribution of tax revenue in Ghana 2021, by origin
As of the third quarter of 2021, domestic direct taxes contributed the largest share to the total tax revenue in Ghana - approximately 46.1 percent. According to the source, around 6.3 billion Ghanaian cedis of revenue from this source - some 977 million U.S. dollars - was collected during that period. Moreover, income from customs duties and levies occupied around 29.1 percent of the non-oil tax revenue, while domestic indirect taxes were responsible for nearly 25 percent of the revenue.
