Percentage of discount alcohol purchased Australia 2013, by drinker type
In a 2020 analysis of the 2013 Australian International Alcohol Control Study, 48.4 percent of the alcohol purchased by respondents who were considered to be harmful drinkers was priced at less than 1.30 Australian dollars per unit of alcohol. The study found that riskier drinkers tended to purchase a higher proportion of discount alcoholic beverages.
