Severity of droughts and flooding in Africa 2016-2018
The intensity of droughts and flooding in Africa has changed over the last few years. According to a survey conducted in 33 African countries, droughts had become more severe for half of the respondents. Flooding, instead, was less severe for four in ten interviewees. People from Uganda, Malawi, and Madagascar were more likely to observe that the droughts became more intense between 2016 and 2018, while people in eSwatini, Gabon, and Madagascar declared to have experienced more severe floods.
