In 2020, most of the capital raised by Latin American technology-based startups (also called Tecnolatinas) was allotted to the fintech and e-commerce industries, capturing almost 50 percent of all investment. The logistics and distribution sector secured approximately one tenth of all total capital raised. Newer sectors including Proptech and Edtech were only able to raise less than five percent of total raised capital, each.
