Gender distribution in national legislature in Kenya 2020
As of 2020, some 31 percent of senators in Kenya were females. Out of 67 senators in the country, 21 were women, which was a little above the two-third gender rule stipulated by the national constitution. However, regarding members of Parliament, females occupied only roughly one-fifth of the total seats. While 76 women were members of the Kenyan Parliament, there were 270 men in the same legislative position.
