Brand awareness for gin brands among consumers in the U.S. 2017
With 34% of the respondents being familiar with the label, Bombay Sapphire ranks second when it comes to the level of gin brand awareness among U.S. consumers. Launched in 1986, this particular gin, just like Beefeater, has its roots in England and incorporates a picture of Queen Victoria on its label. Bombay Sapphire had a brand value of US$317 million in 2017.
Leading Gin Brands Worldwide
Ginebra San Miguel is leading gin brand worldwide in terms of sales volume. The Philippines-based beverage conglomerate sold 24.1 million 9-liter cases in 2018 – almost five times as much as second placed Gordon’s in that year. The American favorite Beefeater took fifth place with a sales volume of 2.8 million 9-liter cases.
Sales of Gin in the United States
In 2018, the gin dollar sales in the United States all in all generated around US$5 billion, a major chunk of it produced by retail sales with US$3.3 billion.
